In a resounding victory for Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), the agency has been honored with the prestigious CBS PEWOSA Best Exhibitor Award at the 2024 CBS PEWOSA trade fair. Held annually during the Easter season, this eight-day event unfolds at Muteesa II Stadium – Wankulukuku, serving as a pivotal platform for the convergence of development groups initiated by CBS, alongside small, medium, and large-scale investors.
The accolade marks a significant triumph for URA’s Tax Education (TE) team, which has been fervently engaging with entrepreneurs of varying scales to impart knowledge on tax incentives within Uganda’s business landscape. Beyond conventional teaching, the TE team has spearheaded efforts to empower taxpayers with crucial insights into the Electronic Fiscal Receipting and Invoicing Solution (EFRIS) and the Digital Tracking System (DTS), pivotal tools driving tax compliance and efficiency.
Isaac Gyagenda, the AG Supervisor of Tax Education, expressed profound gratitude upon receiving the award, underscoring the multifaceted approach adopted by the Tax Education contingent. Gyagenda emphasized that the team’s endeavors extend beyond conventional tax education, delving into addressing concerns raised on diverse tax heads, such as rental tax.
The recognition bestowed upon URA serves as a testament to the agency’s unwavering commitment to fostering tax compliance, education, and transparency within Uganda’s business ecosystem. This accolade not only celebrates past achievements but also galvanizes the Tax Education team to redouble its efforts in empowering taxpayers and fostering a culture of fiscal responsibility and understanding.
